Frequently asked questions
What is Okthx, and what does it do?
Okthx is an AI assistant that handles end-to-end coordination for you, negotiating meeting times, confirming details, and following up across email, text, Slack, and the tools you already use. You approve the kickoff; Okthx handles the rest.
Does Okthx work for personal scheduling too, not just work?
Yes. Alongside 1:1s, group meetings, investor calls, and client scheduling, Okthx handles personal life too, dinner reservations, appointments, family calendars, and everything in between. It works across Google and Outlook calendars.
Who is Okthx for?
Okthx is for professionals who spend hours on the work around the work, scheduling, follow-ups, prep, so they can spend more time on the work only they can do.
How does Okthx work?
Sync your email and calendar, and Okthx gets to work: it suggests scheduling tasks it can take off your plate, checks your availability, and coordinates directly with the other side. You can also cc Okthx on an email or text it directly to kick off a new task.
How does Okthx communicate with other people on my behalf?
Okthx reaches people via email, SMS, and Slack. It can even send calendar invites to a phone number, no email address required.
What does "requires your approval" mean?
You approve the first message before Okthx reaches out to anyone new. Once that kickoff is approved, Okthx handles the replies and follow-ups in that thread on its own, so a scheduling conversation never stalls waiting on you. Anything internal, like holding time on your calendar or drafting a brief, just gets done.
How fast does Okthx reply?
Okthx responds within minutes of any email, invitation, or calendar change, as soon as you've approved it to act on your behalf.
What tools does Okthx connect to?
Okthx connects to 32 services including Google Workspace, Slack, Outlook, Linear, GitHub, Notion, Brex, Stripe, Ramp, Affinity, Attio, Granola, and more.
Which email and calendar providers do you support?
We support Google Workspace and Outlook, for both email and calendar. We're always adding more.
Can Okthx handle multiple calendars?
Yes, Okthx can handle multiple calendars from one or more email accounts. You can select which calendars to look at when scheduling events on your behalf.
Can Okthx learn my preferences over time?
Yes. Okthx builds a memory of your scheduling habits, communication style, VIP relationships, and preferences, and applies them automatically.
What if someone cancels or wants to reschedule a meeting?
Okthx monitors your email and calendar and can detect if someone wants to change or cancel a meeting. It will then re-negotiate the meeting to a new time that works for both parties.
Can you handle virtual meetings?
Yes, if you ask for a virtual meeting, your Okthx assistant will automatically create a Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams associated with the meeting.
How do you handle meeting locations?
Okthx can search the internet for meeting locations like coffee shops, restaurants, and more, it'll even land a last-minute dinner reservation. If multiple places might work, it'll ask you questions to narrow down the selection to a specific venue.
Why do you need to sync my email and calendar?
Okthx syncs your email so it can offer to handle scheduling emails for you and reply on your behalf. It syncs your calendar to understand when you're free to coordinate meetings on your behalf. Your data stays encrypted in transit and at rest the whole time, and we never sell or share it for marketing or advertising purposes.
How does Okthx keep my information safe?
All your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and stored securely within each provider's own infrastructure (Google, Microsoft, and the other tools you connect). We never sell or share your data with anyone for marketing or advertising purposes.
Does it cost anything to use the app?
No. Okthx is free to use during the early testing phase. We plan to introduce a paid subscription in the future, but pricing and plans are still being worked out.
Who is behind Okthx, and why was it built?
Big Basin Labs, a small team of engineers, designers, and product thinkers, built Okthx to free professionals from spiraling coordination tasks, creating more space for the work and life that actually matters.
